Dear Members,

Like previous years, SMCS is participating in Canada Day Parade organized by Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Come to celebrate our nation’s birthday at the annual Canada Day Parade!

Canada Day is a free, fun-filled, family-friendly celebration with something for everyone. There is a full afternoon of family-focused activities at MacDonald Island Park and Heritage Village.

Members who are able to join us with SMCS Float, please come dressed in Indian traditional outfits. Please bring Canada Flags if already available with you. Participants are requested to arrive at staging area by 09:00 AM. See attached map for location.

All walking groups must complete and return a waiver form, click here to download the form. Please fill
out this form and bring with you on event day.

Parade Route
The parade route starts at the intersection of Riedel Street and Franklin Avenue and goes north along Franklin Avenue to Morrison Street.

Parade Schedule

• 07:30 a.m. – Staging on      Clearwater Dr.
• 10:30 a.m. – Parade begins down      Franklin Av.
• 11:30 a.m. – Parade reaches the      end at Morrison St.
• 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. –      De-staging on Fraser Av.

Please join with friends and family to showcase our community on this national festival.
