• ·Dr. Thompson was awarded the 2012 Bettie Hewes Memorial Award by The Alberta Division of the Canadian Mental Health Association for Outstanding Volunteer Service.

• ·She was also recognized and honoured by Girls Inc. as one of Wood Buffalo’s Women of Inspiration for 2013 for her work advocating for women. Girls Inc. is a local non-profit organization focused on inspiring all girls to be strong and bold.

• ·Dr. Vincella Thompson is recognized as one of the Alberta’s 50 Most influential People for 2014. Alberta Venture recognizes individuals who are making a difference through their outstanding contribution in their field of expertise.
