Mandir latest update
- Our mandir will be located at Abram’s land, which showcases Fort McMurray’s religious diversity.
- The Abram’s land subdivision in Timberlea is set to house a mosque, three churches and a Sanatan Mandir.
- Our parcel is 2.1 acres or approx. 8,500 Sq. meters of land.
- Mandir will be built in phases.There will be approx. 7000 sq feet Functional Mandir to be built in phase one.
- The SMCS Engineering and Design Team is working actively on conceptual plan.
- There is an opportunity to close land deal as early as Q4 2014, this entails potential saving of approx. $100 K to $150K.

1. Goals for 2011
- Establish temporary rental mandir facility
- Society incorporation with Province of Alberta
- Continued follow up on Lease land application and explore more commercial lands
- Extend Campaign for fundraising to Alberta and other North America regions.
- Eight programs on Religious / Cultural / Social to be organized.
2. 2010
- AGM & Formation of Society’s Executive Committee
- Society incorporation with Province of Alberta
- Explored few options for Land ( Draper Road , Provincial land lease) etc.
- Application for leas ing the land ( Tower Road plot ) to province was submitted.
- Recognition from CRA as Charity .
- Total pledged members – approx 300 families
- Fundraised (events, corporate voluntary programs, individual donations) – approx $50k
- Six programs on Religious / Cultural / Social were organized
3. 2009
- Different working groups formed to prepare Registration, Fundraising (pledge collection), Land feasibility
